It is probably hidden in “Other device” with yellow mark. Try to use Windows update to find an available driver for the other device with yellow mark at first. If this works and display adapter shown in control panel, you may choose to update the driver to Thanks for the reply cjy Here is the item in the “other items” a Serial ATA controller, which is also not working correctly.

I tried updating it with the Windows update, both as a serial ATA controller and a nVidia display adaptor just to see if the pc was not recognizing it as a display adaptor , but it is still not working properly. That is probably a separate issue in itself. I search everywhere in the device manager and can’t find anything about a display adaptor. When I try to “add legacy hardware” it only gives me the option of adding an Intel based display adaptor, it list no other manufactures.

Something is wrong with your installation of windows, if the VGA device is not showing in device manager. As bigirb mentioned, something is wrong with your graphics card as it is not being detected at all by Windows.

If the graphics card appears in “Other” or “Display Adapters”, then the driver installation should work fine. I tried all of that except the bios update. I am still having the same issue. So I reverted back to XP and have no trouble installing drivers, as a matter of fact everything works perfectly on XP. I just don’t understand why I have problems with Win 7. Maybe I have the UE Virus.

The operating system should have detected your card and installed the wddm 1. If i un-install my card it dissapears from the list, then if i reboot it detects the card and loads up the driver.

I then install the driver i want over the top. Maybe something went wrong when I installed the OS. I am going to re-install Windows 7 tonight and hopefully everything will work. I am not too happy at this point. I am not sure what to do next. Safari Chrome Edge Firefox.
