Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe (PC) : replace.me: PC & Video Games

I fully understand that flight Simulator X is not supported by Windows 10 and that is why I’m here, to request support and updates on flight Simulator X. Flight Simulator X by it’s self works including multiplayer but I encountered problem when I installed Acceleration expansion pack, No dialog to activate it poped up causing it to go into a sortive ‘demo mode’ where I can not access multiplayer although single player works.

If I want to access multiplayer i have to uninstall Acceleration expansion pack and install the service pack 2 and vice versa to get Acceleration to work uninstall service pack 2 as apparently acceleration has it included and install acceleration.

Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. From your post, I understand that you can install Acceleration Pack and get it to work, except you cannot activate it.

I haven’t seen any conclusive fixes for this, except to check your Registry entry that deals with any? FSX activation issues. You can check the following as a first up solution:. Expand the following registry key:. After you find the folder, double-click Upperfilters on the right side.

Change the value from 0 to PartMgr and then click OK. If PartMgr is already there, then leave it as is. Close Registry Editor 6. Or lastly, uninstall FSX completely that is, remove any references to it in its directory, other locations and Registry. Reboot computer. Reinstall FSX and take a flight and shut it down. Install SP1 and take a flight then shut it down. Try installing Acceleration Pack and see how you go.

Just a few thoughts, which you may have already checked out earlier, for you to consider. Details required : characters remaining Cancel Submit 22 people found this reply helpful.

Was this reply helpful? Firstly, congratulations on reaching 90 yrs of age! And also still trying to keep your flying skills honed at this age says a lot about your energy levels and enthusiasm. It’s sad that you are not able to get your FSX running on Windows Many have had this problem, as a cursory glance in this Community Forum will reveal. If you need further help, can you write back the nature of the problem i.

Can you see if there is any error message that comes up on your screen and also any problem reported in your Event Viewer to get to this: right click on the Windows icon at the bottom left of the screen and then click on Event Viewer. It will take a while to populate this window as it has to search many areas of your system.

Right click on the Error line and go into properties and an expanded view of the problem will appear. I would be interested in the Error Code and the Faulting Module details in particular. Hopefully, we can find out where the problem is located as I do know that FSX runs in Win10 and runs very well. Win10 does require more of your computer resources so I hope that FSX will not bog down here. Well, you’re at the right Registry entry, but if you only see those three entries, then that entry is corrupt.

In my Registry, I have ten entries, with UpperFilters at the bottom. I don’t want to suggest any tampering with the Registry as it could cause more harm than good. You may want to first do a System scan which may put back any system files and correct entries. And Enter. This will scan your system, make corrections and give you the results at the end. Then go back to that Registry Entry and see whether there has been any change to it. Otherwise, I would still suggest uninstalling FSX completely, as directed in my earlier post on 11th Oct.

I know it will be a nuisance especially that most of your present installation runs well, but that to me is the safest option. Also, some have had problems reinstalling FSX in Win10 and even though there are fixes, you need to bear that in mind.

Remember, if re-installing, it is preferable to install FSX in the root of your drive e. I did what you said sadly the scan didn’t come up with anything still no upper filter , I completely uninstalled fsx to my understandings and re installed is,during the reinstall I don’t believe it prompted me to here I wanted it installed.

Okay Steve, so the System File Checker didn’t fix anything. So you then did a re-install of FSX: at the outset of the installation process it will ask whether FSX should be installed to the default location i. Program Files xxx. It is here that you can opt to install to another location. Therefore, after you’ve done the above, where do you now stand: is FSX without Acceleration installed and running on your System? And the original problem in your Opening Post still stands?

I’m afraid that the only fix for FSX and Acceleration activation is what I suggested above: amending the Registry entry. The fact that you are not seeing that particular entry is concerning and possibly an installation path problem. You should have entries here for your installation and on mine there are five viz. If that is correct, then at least the Registry is recognizing your FSX installation but for some reason not showing up correctly at the earlier Registry Key.

There is also a software available called TweakFS Registry. Amongst its functions, it repairs the path in the Registry. However, it does examine and alter your Registry – you need to feel comfortable using it, and if so, back up your entire Registry first.

You can find it here:. Alright I reinstalled fsx to the root of c drive, and did everything else you said to the letter but the error still in poping up, which mean no acceleration activation. Your error is a separate issue. So the problem still remains in your Registry not being correct in relation to no Upper Filters entry and reinstallation of FSX is not correcting this. I have no other suggestions other than to create a new account in Windows for the purpose of installing FSX through it.

There is also what’s called a Hidden Admin account in Windows: you can enable it by doing this:. After creating the account whether a new one or hidden one , you will need to reboot the computer and then enter Windows via your selected account. Then try installing FSX via that account – hopefully something in the original account was hindering FSX’s installation. Also, remember to first remove all references to FSX in all their locations in:. If FSX does install and you can activate both it and Acceleration via those other accounts, then check that it works also via your normal account.

If so, and it should, then you can choose to delete the secondary account. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Search the community and support articles Windows Windows 10 Search Community member.
